Ed Sheeran has attained a level of success of the last few years that only a rarified number of artists achieve. Number One singles and albums are the norm. Legions of fans crave his every release. And he has played the largest gigs available.
His Glanstonbury appearance, when he headlined, but refused to do anything different to any other show, was a landmark moment. One man with a guitar and a few pedals on a stage of that size, well that was courageous.
What I like most about Ed is he has remained down to earth throughout. Although his magnificent use of words is a very, very close second. He is, for me, the Paul Simon of his generation. And a brilliant proponent of the Love Song.
His brilliance at penning love songs, is why I chose to create a Love Poem from his song titles. One that I think works very well.
